Kids love to play almost ALL the time, regardless of where they are. And when they’re all hyped up, should the public tolerate the noise?

Just recently, a Malaysian mother expressed her disappointment after some customers in a restaurant made a fuss about her children who were running around the premise.

“Malaysia is not a child-friendly place”

The mother recently visited a restaurant around 8pm, where she fed her daughter before she could eat. When it was her turn to eat, her daughter refused to sit on the baby chair, so the mother let her play in the restaurant with the kid’s sister.

“She played happily. She was running and screaming,” the woman added.

Not long after she started her meal, a waiter approached her and politely asked her NOT to allow her daughters to run around at the premise.

“She told me another customer was complaining about the noise.”

The waiter also said that with her children running around, they might disturb other workers who were serving food to customers. The woman’s family members immediately brought the children out, and she did her best to finish her dinner. However, she was not happy about the experience.

“Please understand me as a parent”

The woman said that she just put down her children for less than 5 minutes but others were already making a fuss about the noise.

“If my children were noisy, weren’t other customers noisy too?”

She also noticed that the workers in the restaurant were not that busy during the time, and clarified that she would’ve reminded her children to be careful while playing so that they would not affect the servers.

She then said that the person who complains about her children has no idea about parenting, and reiterate that 1 day, he/she will understand her feelings.

“When you have children, you’ll understand. I wish you luck.”

“A restaurant is not a playground”

Many netizens did not agree with how she responded to the situation, and they believed that as a parent, the woman should’ve been more responsible towards her children.

“I have 3 children, and I don’t allow them to run around and make noise. If you want to dine in peace, hire a maid. If the kids are obedient, I will take my time. You’re pampering your children too much. If you don’t teach them now, the consequences when they grow up will be worse.”

“If your children were hurt, who’ll be responsible? I really hate those who think children are allowed to run around and scream in public. Your children are not the public’s responsibility.”

“I think you’re not empathetic. Who will be responsible if your children were hurt? The servers?”

“Don’t guilt trip the servers with child-friendly. A restaurant is not a playground.”

The woman has since deleted the post but it has many Facebook pages have been sharing the post.

To the parents out there, how do you keep your kids under control when you’re outdoors?
