This reminds us of the story of an Indonesian man whose pet Arowana was cooked and eaten by his father!

On 2 November, an Indonesian fishing account posted a horrifying set of pictures for all Betta fish lovers. The series of pictures might be a little disturbing for some people as the little fishes look like they are staring into your soul. So, yes, you have been warned.

The Indonesian fishing account posted a total of seven photos in which tens of seemingly baby betta fishes have been deep-fried. On the caption, the account handler said: “Betta fish lovers will cry when they see this post, especially me.”

The first picture shows multiple dead fighting fishes on a red plastic dish and the following picture shows some fresh ingredients such as parsley, shallots, garlic and a small pack of seasoned flour.

The garlic and shallots were then mixed in with the betta fishes and some flour were poured on them.

The person then heated up some oil in the wok to prepare for deep-frying. Once it was hot enough, the “betta fish pancake” was put in and fried till crispy.

The end product looks increasingly disturbing the more you stare at it.

The Instagram account does not divulge any more information on whether the deep-fried fishes were eaten and no timeline was given as well.
