Apparently there is going to be a special light art festival happening from 25th November 2017 to 1st January 2018 and one of their exhibitions is none other than the Aurora Laser Show that will mimic the actual Northern Lights! Known as “Between the City and Stars”, it will be held at Lightbox, and this will be the first time a light art festival is ever held in Malaysia. The exciting event will showcase collaborations between local and international artists from the Netherlands.

Wondering what to expect? There will be loads of spectacular light art on display, namely large light installations, LED swings, interactive art, light shows and many more. Which means plenty of Instagram-worthy moments! Located in Sungai Buloh, it’s only a short 15-minute drive from One Utama Shopping Mall and Desa ParkCity.

The festival certainly looks exciting, as there will be various sections showcasing different exhibitions. Here are the different exhibits that will be present according to their website:

  • City Gazing: A light art experience by the Dutch art duo VOUW Justus Bruns & Mingus Vogel depicting the city map of Kuala Lumpur from the view far above the sky using thousands of lights.
  • Brick Lane: This lane was curated by founder of ArtSeni Philip Wong, as Tomi Heri with Snozze & Snaketwo preview their “Art On Floor” on this lane. On top of the amazing artwork, there will be a Public Disco so be sure to put on your dancing shoes! Looks like there’s a lot of lovely pastel colours in this installation!
  • Dreamscape: Created by designers Sergio Alves and Henrique Nascimento from Portugal and the Netherlands, Dreamscape is a sensorial celebration that will immerse you in a magical world like never before. You’ll feel like you’ve stepped into another dimension!
  • Aurora Laser Show: Experience the Northern Lights show that features brilliant lights like no other! Best of all, the show will take place every hour for five minutes each time, so you have ample opportunity to enjoy the stunning lights.
  • LED Light Swings: Go back to your childhood again with these gorgeous swings that look like they have just arrived from the future.
  • Secret Rendezvous: Now, this is the section you have to visit with your lover because it celebrates love and there’s even a place for you to symbolically lock your love together. So romantic!
