M’sian Who Runs Marathons & Climbs Mountains Tragically Dies After Collapsing on Badminton Court in Kedah

An elderly man suddenly collapsed while playing badminton at a court in Alor Setar, Kedah, at about 3:45pm on Friday (March 7). Despite emergency aid being performed on the elderly man by a doctor, he unfortunately passed away while being taken to a hospital.

Netizen JC Chun took to his Facebook page to showcase CCTV footage of the incident, where the elderly man could be seen playing a doubles match with his friends.

After the shuttlecock had fallen, the man picked it up and was ready to serve when he suddenly fell backwards and lost consciousness.

While the other players rushed to his side to assist him, a doctor, who was playing at the next court, ran over and performed Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) on the elderly man.

The doctor performed CPR until the ambulance arrived

According to a report by Guang Ming Daily, the doctor performed CPR until an ambulance arrived to send him to a hospital. Sadly, the man was pronounced dead soon after.

The elderly man, who was in his 60s, was a sports enthusiast who played badminton regularly with his friends and also participated in mountain climbing and marathons.
