It’s so great to see our youth exhibiting good sportsmanship!

Earlier this week, the Japanese national football team touched the hearts of people all over the world when they respectfully cleaned their locker room and left a thank you note in Russian after their heartbreaking loss to Belgium in the World Cup.

Just yesterday (4th July), team Malaysia did us proud when they beat Cambodia 2-0 in the group stage of the Asean Football Federation (AFF) U-19 (Under-19) Championship held in Indonesia, according to FourFourTwo.

However, after winning the match, they made us even more proud when they took a page out of team Japan’s book and left their dressing room completely spotless! That’s the way, boys!

The photo of the dressing room was uploaded to Instagram by the team’s assistant head coach, Hairuddin Omar, who commended the boys for their respect and discipline.

The post soon got the attention of Malaysian netizens, who had nothing but praises and words of encouragement for our U-19 team.

All the best to team Malaysia in the AFF U-19 Championship! Continue being good sports no matter what the outcome is. You’re already winners in our eyes!
