One of the hardest things about adulting is accepting the fact that your career is something you need to focus on. That being said, many people would then look for jobs that could help them grow.
Just recently, a Malaysian shared his dilemma on a Facebook post about this current job. In his post he said,
“I’ve been working in this company for 3 years, but my salary is still at RM3,080. I do get a year-end bonus, but it’s only RM1,000. Every year, my raise is just RM80, but the workload isn’t matching.”
He explained that other than the fact that he only gets an RM80 raise, his workload is exactly like a manager.
“Should I leave and find better opportunities?”, he asked.
Following his post, many netizens have commented and here’s what some of them said:
“If you can ask this question, it means that you already see a problem. When you see a problem, you should plan and take action, if not this problem would persist for the next 10 years.”
“When you ask, you already know the answer. Even if everyone asks you to stay, your heart will still ache to leave. You will start looking for reasons to leave and finding faults in the company.”
“The thing you should care most about is yourself. Do you think you’re able to find a better opportunity out there? If you have the qualifications and capabilities, you should go out and try. If you don’t even know what your capabilities are, then you should reflect on yourself.”
“If you’re planning to gain more experience then you should stay, but if you’re planning to work long term, you should find a job that gives better benefits. If you’re an employee, you should try to find the right boss. Then you will get the motivation for working hard.”
As an employee, being able to work in a drama-free environment is definitely hard but as long as you do your best, everything will fall into place. Have you ever had a similar experience? Let us know in the comments below!
