The Ministry of Health (KKM), through the Private Medical Practice Control Section (CKAPS), has already started an investigation into the allegations that a private hospital had kept the body of a dead baby in a freezer for 2 weeks, apparently due to the parents failing to pay their hospital bill.

According to a report by Harian Metro, Health Minister Datuk Seri Dr Dzulkefly Ahmad shared this while advising all parties to remain calm while the authorities are investigating.

“I honestly want all parties to calm down and allow the authorities who are conducting the investigation, including CKAPS, to come together (and conduct the investigation),”

“Hence, I will wait patiently to get the full findings from all the authorities conducting investigations including from (KKM’s) side, CKAPS, who have already approached some parties involved. So, I want everyone among us to be kind, compassionate and empathetic,” he said.

He also expressed his condolences to the family of the baby, while hoping that people do not spread stories without confirmed validity.

“It is not an easy matter because there are allegations here and there. So, I believe we can all be patient to get the real facts before we make any assumptions that we will regret later,” he added.
