One of the toughest jobs would definitely be a housewife. Unlike other jobs, housewives don’t get a fixed ‘break’ and is almost always on the go taking care of their kids or doing house chores. That being said, this Malaysian homemaker has shared how she feels lonely and sad as she feels like her efforts aren’t being appreciated.

“I used to work before I got married and I was really happy back then. After getting married and having kids, I decided that I want to focus on my family and be the best mom and wife for my little family. My husband was supportive of my decision to stay home and that’s how my housewife journey started”, she said.

She then shared that as time passes, she started to feel lonely as she doesn’t have anyone to speak to the whole day.

“I do the same thing every day, I make breakfast for my husband, clean the house, and take care of our child”, she added.

She said that she barely gets to chat with her husband as well because he goes to work by 6:30am. After being a housewife, she feels that she isn’t being respected or taken into consideration by her own family.

“My parents don’t really care about me, and I know that because I can see the way they treat my siblings. Unlike me, my siblings can afford to give my parents money and I think that’s the reason why they don’t take my feelings into consideration”, she said.

She then revealed that when she heads back to her in law’s, she’s usually the one that helps them do the cooking and cleaning as well. She then ended the post saying that when she decided to be a housewife, she thought it would be wholesome where she could welcome her husband back from work along with their child.

“But reality is cruel. I feel so lonely and in the eyes of my parents, I’m just someone who is leeching off my husband as I’m unable to provide financially. I think I need to try to get back into the workforce. I need to find myself again”, she said.

No matter the ‘occupation’ one should always be treated with respect because at the end of the day, we are still humans.
