A recent video has amused many Malaysians after a food delivery rider went the extra mile to fulfil a customer’s special request.
Taking to Threads, Najiha (@najihahsyazana) shared that she had ordered food for her nephew’s birthday on behalf of his grandmother, who happens to share the same birthday as him.
Ordinary delivery becomes a heartwarming birthday moment
In a screenshot of Najiha’s conversation with the rider, she asked him for a small favour to sing “Happy Birthday” to her nephew, Affan, turning an ordinary food delivery into a heartwarming moment.
The rider happily agreed and recorded himself singing “Happy Birthday” to Affan before handing over the food. Affan, meanwhile, appeared amused by the surprise, flashing a big smile as he listened to the rider sing.
“Thank you to the rider for helping us sing a birthday song for our nephew. And thank you to everyone who wished Affan a happy birthday.
“Affan’s birthday happens to fall on the same date as his late grandfather and grandmother’s birthdays. His grandfather was born on 10 August 1963, his grandmother on 10 August 1965, and Affan on 10 August 2017. Affan’s grandfather passed away last year on 12 February 2025. This is the second year we’re celebrating Affan’s birthday without his late grandfather (my father). Al-Fatihah for Mohammad Nooh bin Ismail,” the post read.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, Najiha also shared a heartfelt message for the rider, saying:
“Wishing nothing but good things for everyone who wished my nephew a happy birthday. And to the rider, I hope everything goes smoothly for you too. Thank you for helping me sing the birthday song.”
