The best part about any festive season is not just the chance to feast but also how it brings everyone together for another bonding session. Unfortunately, there’s something unspoken about the festive season today that many of us might be feeling without saying.
The lack of “feelings” or in other words, the absence of the vibes that our inner child misses so much.
In a recent Xiao Hong Shu post by @黑玫瑰?, a Malaysian girl, Vivian shared her take on what she feels about the recent CNY of recent years.
“I don’t know if it’s because of the fact that I’m growing older. I can’t feel the vibes like what we used to feel. It’s like something is lacking, but I can’t tell what exactly.”
Vivian, who is a Chindian and celebrates CNY every year couldn’t pinpoint exactly what was absent but she tried her best to explain what the CNY in recent years has made her feel.
“It’s not as happy as the previous CNY. The excitement and anticipation aren’t as big as before.”
The lack of vibes is not the only thing that Vivian noticed about this year’s CNY.
“I feel more pressured this year, all thanks to…”
Vivian admitted that aside from the missing vibes that we used to feel and experience back then, she feels more pressured recently during the festive season, all thanks to the million-dollar questions that people had for her.
“Why are you still single? Why are you taking so long to find a BF? The longer you take to get married, you’ll be off the market, and you’ll be too old to give birth.”
Vivian herself couldn’t answer any of the questions.
While she couldn’t deny how pressuring it is to see her peers having their own family, she is still happy to see their achievement and believes the best thing to do for now is to just go with the flow.
In a brief conversation with WORLD OF BUZZ, Vivian said that she is still on the journey to be the best version of herself.
When asked about her feelings about CNY, Vivian told WORLD OF BUZZ,
“The vibes are just not here. It’s not as happening as before.”
Regardless, it’s still a good time for those celebrating to reunite with the family for a meal and strengthen the bond. What do you think of Vivian’s take on the recent CNYs? Are the good old days of the festive season really long gone? What do you do to relive the good old days of CNY?
