After getting into an accident on Jalan Sungai Kelamah-Jelai-Gemas, Negeri Sembilan, a couple decided to leave the body of their 2-year-old son at the scene as they stole a road user’s car to run away.

The couple, in their 20s and 30s respectively, fled in a Toyota Hilux belonging to a road user who stopped to provide first aid to them, a report by Kosmo shared.

Tampin District Police Chief Superintendent Anuwal Ab Wahab shared that the accident happened when the couple was with their child on their way from Felda Jelai to Felda Bukit Jalor.

Upon arriving at the scene, he said that the male suspect driving a Proton Iswara Aeroback tried to overtake a lorry before failing to control the vehicle and slipping to the right side of the road.

“The vehicle turned several times before colliding with a lorry. As a result of the accident, both passengers of the car were thrown out. A 2-year-old boy was thrown to the middle of the road and was run over by an unidentified vehicle,” he said.

Adding further, Anuwal explained that the couple was arrested at their house in Felda Bukit Jalor, and further inspections of the vehicle driven by the man had contained drugs.

The authorities have since opened three investigation papers under Section 41 (1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, Section 379A of the Penal Code and Section 39A (1) of the Dangerous Drugs Act (ADB) 1985.
