Getting bitten by unknown insects while watching a movie in the cinema is the worst nightmare for any cinema-goer. Unfortunately, that is exactly what happened to this Malaysian couple.

Just hours ago (6 September), a netizen took to Facebook to share how she and her boyfriend were bitten by some unknown insects midway through a movie. It was understood that the cinema is located in a mall in KL.

Here’s what she wrote.

“In the middle of the movie, my boyfriend felt very uncomfortable because of the itchiness and (he) kept scratching his lower back. At first, we didn’t really pay much attention to it because we thought it might just be a mosquito bite until I began to feel itchy too and started scratching my hand as well.

“He was trying to find out what had caused the itch. When he flipped the cushion, he saw a few mites crawling around. He didn’t manage to catch one as they were moving too fast.”

The couple then left the hall as their itch was unbearable and they complained to the staff. They were asked to make a simple report so that they could be given a refund. “The staff even told us that this has been happening in the past few months but no action has been taken.”

After this post went viral on Facebook, some netizens also shared their experience in the comments.

So guys, to be safe, just arrive earlier and check your seats before the movie starts (while the lights are still switched on) or you ‘mite’ get bitten!
