How often do we see a hobby turn into reality? Making your dreams come true requires a lot of time, effort, and dedication. But with hard work, you can achieve exactly that.
And these 2 Malaysians are living proof of that! In a recent video shared by @gbot6807, he tests a DIY plane called the “Fattie Debab”, which was created and built by @skulleader001.
“He created the Fattie Debab”
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, @gbot6807, the designated pilot who tests planes invented by @skulleader001 (Haznie), revealed that Haznie has been passionately building DIY planes for the past 10 years.
It all started from a simple idea to demonstrate how learning-disabled individuals, especially those struggling with classroom concentration, can achieve a deeper understanding.
Currently, Haznie is running a program that has garnered regional and global attention, using his cartoon plane design to attract interest in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) and TVET (Technical and Vocational Education and Training) through RC (Radio-Controlled) planes.
Haznie’s project has gained global recognition
@gbot6807 continued to highlight how Haznie’s project has now attracted global orders.
“Fattie Debab has reached Australia, Japan, the USA, Singapore, and Brunei. This opens up more opportunities and elevates Malaysia’s status on the world stage, while also providing inspiration to the youth and those in need.”
He also mentioned how Haznie has adjusted his RC plane design and started teaching these individuals, discovering that they were more interested and proficient in skill-based activities.
“These ‘children of heaven’ may face challenges in traditional learning but excel in hands-on skills,” @gbot6807 added.
Not all heroes wear capes!
@gbot6807 explained that despite being slow learners, individuals with disabilities tend to show a strong interest in skill-based activities and are more adept with motor skills.
“Haznie is skilled at producing DIY planes, while I am the test pilot. If there’s an event, we both get sent to showcase and demonstrate in front of VIPs. Any sales generated are used to support learning-disabled individuals who are less fortunate and more inclined towards technology like drones and remote control.”
He emphasised that this is one of the ways both he and Haznie help those who are less fortunate to focus on skill-based technology, such as RC hobbies.
“Keep believing”
@gbot6807 also shared how he and Haznie frequently brainstorm and test new ideas, looking for creative ways to engage and attract slow learners to STEM-TVET related to drone and radio control technology.
He concluded the interview with a motivational message saying,
“Keep believing, always inspire others, and stay creative. Remember, #H2C #Hobby2Community, bringing hobbies back to the community and society, regardless of background, race, or gender.”
