Without delivery riders out there who brace through the sunny weather and rainy days, we wouldn’t have received our packages safely right at our doorstep. Sadly, many are still not appreciating their efforts and some are even rude to the Abang Riders.

Recently, an image that shows a harsh comment on a packaging went viral on social media. The recipient provided her address to the rider, along with an unnecessary message that will hurt anyone reading it.

“Follow the Maps application. If you’re too stupid to read the Maps, then don’t be a rider.”

The viral image gained major criticism online, and many said that the recipient was rude. After knowing about the heated debate online, the woman has since apologised.

“I was emotional when typing the address”

The woman said that she has been finding solutions to apologise, and eventually, she found another rider, whom she has been following on Facebook to help her pass the message. In her apology, she said that she was emotional due to the repeated mistakes of the delivery riders who sometimes delivered her packages to the wrong address.

“My mother is always at home but sometimes, the packages are not received when they’re marked as delivered.”

The woman also hopes the public will forgive her for her mistakes, and said that “everyone makes mistakes”. She extended her apologies to all delivery riders out there for her harsh words toward them, and said that it does not feel good at all to get criticised online.

“Forgive me for not being able to contain my emotions when typing the address. The repeated mistakes from the past got to me.”

When the image initially went viral, her address was exposed, rendering internet users to edit her address on Google Maps as Miskin Adab (poor in manners) and Rumah Bodoh Sombong Dengan Rider (the house of a person who’s arrogant towards delivery riders).

Despite being at fault, it does not grant anyone the right to alter the name of the address of her house online. Now that she has apologised, we hope that everyone can move forward and take this as a lesson.
