Yesterday, the Ministry of Health said that they detected a sporadic case of Covid-19. Sporadic means that the patient has had no contact with any infected people or had travelled to any infected countries.

Later on at night, the Ministry of Health then issued another statement that said they have found out that the sporadic case that they have mentioned before was not sporadic at all. They found out that the patient was present at the Sri Petaling mosque event.

“For this case, the individual was discovered through our severe acute respiratory infection surveillance screening.

The individual tested positive for Covid-19. However, after investigation, the patient was found to have attended the religious event at Masjid Sri Petaling. “

There are a total of 158 cases as of now. In the 158 cases, 3 patients are in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) now and there have been 32 cases discharged.

The Sri Petaling religious event was attended by about 10,000 and the Ministry of Health has since advised the people who were there to get tested. They also urged the for mass gatherings to be postponed. In response to this, Perlis has cancelled their Friday prayer sessions have asked Muslims to replace it with Zohor prayers.

 

Oh no, we hope that the ministry will be able to take actions to curb the spread of Covid-19. However, if you experience any fever, tiredness, difficulty in breathing and dry cough, you should seek medical attention.
