MOE Allegedly Sent Out Circular BANNING Period Spot Checks In Educational Institutions

Through the sharing of Malaysian netizens, many cases of period spot checks have been reported. This has been an ongoing case for many years now, however, it has recently surfaced again.

It has been almost 7 months after the stories have come out and on 2 November, the Ministry of Education allegedly issued a circular that asks all schools under the ministry to STOP period spot checks. A screenshot of the document was seen circulating across different social media platforms.

“The ministry has discovered that there were period spot checks happening in schools under MOE.”

“We are taking this matter seriously and we would like to reiterate that period spot check should NOT be happening in schools under MOE.”

The circular continued, “in relation to that, all state education departments (JPN) and district education offices (PPD) need to make sure that there will be no period spot checks happening in educational institutions under the ministry. It is said that JPN and PPD should always be sensitive and should monitor the institutions continue to make sure that it doesn’t happen again in the future.”

“If this practice is found to be ongoing in institutions under MOE, strict actions should be taken immediately.”

This document was circulating across different social media platforms.

We have reached out to the Ministry of Education to confirm the contents of the circular but have yet to receive any reply.
