Earlier, Sin Chew reported that the lifeless body of a part-time singer was found on a bed in her rented room in Melaka yesterday (February 23).

According to her housemates, they heard arguments coming from the deceased woman’s room early Saturday morning (February 22). The married woman, who is also a mother of three rented the room at Taman Seri Mangga, Seksyen 1, Pokok Mangga, with her boyfriend 8 months ago.

However, it became unusually quiet when no voices were heard at all coming from the room the next day.  One of the housemates tried to check on her as she had not left the room since Friday but to no avail. So, the housemate contacted the police around 11 AM yesterday.

The man was in the room with the body the entire time

The woman’s body was found on the bed while two knives and alcohol bottles were found in the room. The man was also revealed to be in the room the entire time.

PDRM seized the blades, which were believed to be the murder weapon. The man also tried to commit suicide after murdering the woman.

In an official statement by PDRM this evening (February 24), the police said the suspect has been arrested and the matter is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code. If found guilty, the man is facing a possible death sentence.

“Initial investigations show that the pair argued after a misunderstanding,” said ACP Christopher Patit, the chief Police of Central Malacca.

PDRM also urged witnesses to come forward to help with the investigation.
