It requires NOT only love to care for a loved one who is ill and bedridden but also lots of patience. However, a man in China has recently lost his patience after taking care of his sick mother.

He has been taking care of his ill mother for not only one or two years, but 20 years, and it’s never easy to care for a bedridden person for that period of time. After doing the same routine for 2 decades, the man got depressed, lost his patience, and lashed out at his mother.

The incident happened at a hospital in Xin Jiang recently, where the son was seen flipping the blanket toward his mother before uttering hurtful words.

“Why aren’t you dead yet?”

The man noticed that his mother did not put her blanket on, and impatiently asked if the mother was not comfortable with the provided blanket. Despite his impatience and anger, the man asked his mother to lie down and gently put on the blanket for his mother, and continued caring for his mother.

According to the Chinese website Sohu, the man who has been taking care of his mother for 20 years also has an undisclosed illness. It is also reported that his mother was admitted to the hospital after being diagnosed with the Covid-19 virus, but that is not the only illness that the poor old woman is battling.

“She is also a patient of dementia,” said one of the frequent visitors of the hospital.

Other than the man himself, his younger brother takes turns with him to care for their mother.

The clip has gone viral online, with many netizens expressing their sympathy toward the family. Most of them agreed that it’s never right to speak to the elderly that way, but fortunately, they understood his tough situation. You can watch the short clip below.

Not long ago, local celebrity Chef Wan also revealed that it is never a walk in the park to care for his mother who suffers from dementia.

Fellow Malaysians, do you see yourself being patient for decades caring for a bedridden parent?
