The public have been enraged by a recent case of serious animal abuse concerning a guard dog at Taman Melody Bandar Kinrara in Puchong.

As seen in the footage posted by Malaysia Independent Animal Rescue (MIAR), the man was cycling into the housing area on the 2nd of April. While he was passing the guard house, the guard dog (Furby) , upon seeing the man’s pet on the bicycle’s basket, got excited and tried to run towards the man.

Initially leashed, Furby broke free after a few tries and proceeded to run towards the man. Although there was no physical contact, the man loss his balance and fell from his bike, presumably due to being surprised.

The man, in a rage, picked up his bike and ran towards the defenseless canine and started beating the dog up. The cyclist held the dog on by his collar and repeatedly punched and slapped the dog. What has the dog even done to you?

The man kept going even when the female security guard tried to stop him.

At one point the man grabbed a helmet and bashed the poor dog mercilessly, before picking him up by the collar and throwing him behind the guard house. Where is the humanity?

After this incident, the Department of Veterinary Services (DVS) visited the dog to conduct several check ups and have assured everyone that Furby is safe and in a stable condition currently.

The suspect has also been identified as a Singaporean man by the name of Terry Yee Kok Chew, who is the owner of TearProof, an outdoor and sporting goods company.

Although police reports have been made, the police stated today that they cannot take any action, unless the dog’s owner came forward to lodge a report, FMT reported.

“Police have been waiting for the dog owner to step forward and lodge a report. There is none. We found out that it’s a stray dog,” Commissioner Megat Mohd Aminuddin said.

“So far, the security guard who witnessed the incident has also not lodged a report,” he said.

So, no justice for the poor dog who was mercilessly beaten up and injured for no reason? Really?

Of course, Malaysians were outraged at this and wondered if it’s okay just to beat up animals like that – even if it’s a stray.
