Guys, there’s something exciting brewing!

In three years’ time, there will be a new water theme park in Malaysia and you’ll be excited to know that it will be Hasbro-themed. YASS!

If you didn’t know, Hasbro is the American company responsible for producing toys and board games like the Nerf guns and Monopoly – not to mention the iconic Transformers.

According to The Edge Markets, the Hasbro-themed water park is expected to open in 2022 within the Malaysia Tourism City (MTC) in Kota Linggi, Melaka. Nice!

The water park will feature licensed intellectual properties (aka attractions) like My Little Pony, Nerf and GI Joe. Meridian Bhd, formerly known as Meda Inc Bhd, plans to team up M101 Holdings Sdn Bhd in order to open this theme park in Malaysia.

FYI, M101 Holdings Sdn Bhd, which signed the licensing agreement with US-based Hasbro Inc, was founded Datuk Seth Yap Ting Hau. Additionally, Meridian – which is listed in Bursa Malaysia – is also controlled by Yap.

Having said that, the construction of the water park is expected to cost RM80 million and will occupy 15 acres of MTC, which spans a total of 622 acres.

The Hasbro-themed water park is the second partnership between Yap and Hasbro as previously, M101 announced that they will open the first Monopoly-themed hotel in the world at M101 Bukit Bintang. We definitely can’t wait for the Monopoly hotel to open!

Well, we’re surely looking forward to having a Hasbro-themed water park in Malaysia! Are you a fan of Hasbro’s toys and board games? What attractions do you expect to see in this water park? Let us know in the comments below!
