With more companies asking their employees to return to work in offices, there’s bound to be a comeback of the usual dreaded morning work commute crowd.

However, if your commute involves the LRT Kelana Jaya line, we have some good news for you! Rapid KL just announced a new express rail service that aims to decrease commute time for public transport users that take this line.

The new service is called Skip.Stop.Xpress and was enforced to ease the crowding situation in particularly populated stations along the line. These include Setiawangsa, Ampang Park and Wangsa Maju.

Rapid KL took to their FAQ’s (Frequently Asked Questions) to clarify how the train service will work. A Skip.Stop.Xpress train will depart from Gombak LRT stations at 8am and will directly proceed to LRT Wangsa Maju before heading to LRT Setiawangsa and LRT Ampang Park respectively without making any stop for other stations in between.

If you don’t need to stop at these populated stations, don’t worry! The normal service train line will resume after the express railway service departs from LRT Ampang Park Station.

But if you board the train and forget to get off at your designated station, you’ll have to remain on board the train until the express railway reaches its next stop. Once you arrive at that stop, you’ll have to board another train on the opposite platform to get to your preferred station.

While convenient, do take note that the Skip.Stop.Xpress train service only operates on weekdays during peak hours and will not run during weekends or during public holidays.

For more information on the express railway service, visit Rapid KL’s Facebook page or refer to the FAQs. What do you guys think of this?
