We often hear about people moving to new homes when they relocate to a different area. However, it’s rare to consider that instead of moving into a new house, one could actually take their entire house along with them.
@bossjcom took to his TikTok to show how with the help of many volunteers, they made an attempt to move an entire traditional Malay house to relocate it elsewhere.
Home is where the heart is
In the video, the group can be seen gathering all their strength to physically lift a traditional house, said to be 100 years old, located in Hulu Selangor.
Speaking to WORLD OF BUZZ, @bossjcom explained that the house was relocated due to an ongoing project. The plan was to have the traditional house moved from its original place in Desa Melur, Serendah, to an area that was just 15 metres away.
“The 1st attempt was unsuccessful. The 2nd time, with help from Jabatan Amal, the Malaysia Civil Defence Department, and more local residents, we successfully managed to lift it.”
“A new chapter in Hulu Selangor’s history has been made”
The house relocation drew a large crowd of enthusiastic locals who came to support and witness the event. In the video, they can be heard cheering loudly to encourage the efforts of those involved.
@bossjcom shared,
“For the first time in Hulu Selangor’s history, an old house was relocated to a new site through a collective effort. This remarkable achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the hard work and dedication of everyone involved. Thank you to all who made this house relocation activity successful.”
He added that the locals have been preserving the house and are committed to continuing their efforts in the coming years, ensuring the house remains a cherished part of the community’s heritage.
