With the state election coming in 2 weeks and the candidates for Perikatan Nasional (PN) revealed last night, the heat is getting stronger. With local singer Baby Shima announcing her involvement in the politics recently, some Malaysians are still wondering about her desired state and manifesto.

In case you’re expecting to hear any updates about her involvement, don’t expect to hear about her promises. In a short clip shared on Shima’s Instagram page, she is seen asking the former Minister of Health, KJ for suggestions about the state elections.

“Where do you think I should contest?”

It did not take long for KJ to come up with an answer and he immediately responded by saying, “I think Shima should contest in Kelantan”.

His joke was followed by a moment of (awkward) silence. In his IG caption, Shima said that she is not contesting in the state polls anymore if Kelantan is going to be her destination.

“Sorry everyone. I’m not going to contest anymore.”

“Kelantan? So be it!”

Many were entertained by KJ’s joke by suggesting Kelantan, but some netizens were fine if Shima makes it to Kelantan, saying that maybe it’s the time to see a change of political party in the state.

“Don’t give up. If it’s Kelantan, so be it. Look after the welfare of the people in the state, especially those who have been using cloudy water. Keep going as long as the state is not going backwards.”

Another netizen told Shima that she may need to put on Hijab if she’s contesting there.

“Make it happen! Change the water in Kelantan!”

“I’m sure many voters out there will return to Kelantan just to vote for you if you are contesting here.”

The post was shared yesterday and at the time of writing (July 27), Shima has not spoken anything further about her involvement in politics. Well, maybe next time!
