The most common name for orange cats is definitely Garfield, but these days, people have been naming their pets all sorts of names.

In a recent post by a pet shelter in Kuala Lumpur, they have named 2 rescue cats after some famous local politicians Najib Razak and Zahid Hamidi.

The post caption reads,

“They are very polite and have soft personalities. Very credible felines, each step and movement they make is very elegant.”

Netizens, of course, found the post very entertaining.

“Where is Sabri?”

“He’s here. Just shy and hiding on top.”

“Got Anwar Ibrahim?”

“There will be. Please be patient.”

“The names of these cats are not the normal ones.”

“This is marketing for the cats.”

After a few days, the feline Najib Razak was adopted by a family living in Petaling Jaya. In a goodbye post, the shelter says,

“Najib is a good cat and he was very sociable at the shelter. We hope that his new family will love him fully as he is a manja cat.”

Other than that, the shelter has also said that Najib Razak’s friend, Zahid Hamidi is still up for adoption. If you want to adopt or just visit him and the others, you can walk-in to Galeri Animal Malaysia (No.5, Jalan Balam, Taman Million, 51100, Kuala Lumpur) daily from 11am to 6pm.

There are also many other cats with unique names such as Hang Tuah, Hang Jebat and so on up for adoption. So if you’ve been thinking of getting a pet, adopt and not shop!
