Compassion and kindness comes in all forms; some may chose to donate to the poor, while others may volunteer at soup kitchens or animal shelters in their time off. But for one man, compassion extends not only to the living, but to the deceased as well, according to this report by China Press.

In a heart-wrenching tale that nobody would wish upon anyone, a pair of parents had to endure the sad fate of having a child that suddenly fell victim to a heart condition at a tender age. Worried as all parents would be for the health of their child, they spared no expense in search for a cure to help heal their child, going to such lengths as traveling to Serdang Hospital and receiving treatment all the way from their village.

They did this all while spending what meagre life savings they had, eventually emptying their accounts altogether for the slimmest glimmer of hope.

But despite their best efforts, the inevitable happened; their child eventually succumbed to his ills and passed away. Heartbroken and penniless, his parents grieved, but with all their money spent on their late child’s treatment, they didn’t even have enough money to return to their home village.

Their plan? To cradle the deceased body of their own child in their arms on the bus ride home, back to their village.

But thankfully, a fellow Malaysian man, who is fondly referred to as Uncle Kuan Chee Heng, quickly stepped in after receiving a call from Serdang Hospital staff about the couple and their circumstances.

Driving all the way to meet them at the hospital, he and his friends offered to bring the couple and their deceased child back to their home village free of charge, and raised the money to help organise a funeral and burial too!

Apparently, Uncle Kuan Chee Heng has been doing this for quite some time now, and has been offering aid to grieving families who cannot afford to pay for funerary expenses or burials for their deceased loved ones.

Despite being Chinese himself, he is more than happy to lend a hand to anyone in Malaysia who needs help with their funerary arrangements, regardless of race or religion.

“Do not be saddened if you are in a difficult position. If you face any difficulties sending your parents back home to their villages, call us.

If you don’t have money for a hearse, call uncle. Uncle will help you transport your deceased loved ones back home.

Do not despair. If you have no money for funerary arrangements, we Children of Malaysia will be ready to help.”

According to Uncle Kuan, the reason why he does this is because many poor families have nobody to turn to in their darkest moments during the passing of a family member, and often don’t have enough money to cover the cost of both the funeral and burial.

“By offering them a hand, I hope I can encourage them to seek for help, because there are still plenty of people in Malaysia who will gladly do so.”

If there are those of you who would like to help Uncle Kuan in his noble and charitable cause, you may contact him at 0182683999 or 0122732148.

Uncle Kuan, thank you for your contributions to Malaysian society. We are humbled by your kindness and generosity, and hope that you will continue to serve the community in good health.
