When you find yourself in times of trouble, the people who are the kindest and most willing to help will forever be your fellow community members.

Here’s a really good example of this.

According to a report by the Anadolu Agency, a restaurant owner in Adana, Turkiye, has opened the doors to 3 of his restaurants to those who need shelter and food following the devastating twin earthquakes that took place there.

Shelter 1

“After the first earthquake, we thought the safest place to go would be the restaurant. It was raining, we saw people waiting in their cars, sitting on the pavement or just milling around without a place to go,” he said, adding that he “immediately opened the doors of the restaurant and has been providing free food, soup and tea ever since.”

Considering the immense damage created by the earthquakes, many have since been taking shelter in his restaurants.

Shelter 3

On top of opening up his restaurants to those in need, the restaurant owner named Oral has also been sending food to other locations effected by the natural disaster.

“It is time to unite. In our religion, Islam, it is obligatory to help those in need,” he added.

Ever since then, many other eateries have followed suit and utilised their premises as shelters for those effected by the earthquakes.

It is truly amazing to see how communities care for each other when times are tough. Kudos, Oral!
