If you follow Khairy Jamaluddin on Twitter, you would’ve seen this tweet!

As former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak continues to claim that Barisan Nasional had lost in the last GE14 due to “fraud, defamation and false promises made by Pakatan Harapan”, former UMNO Youth Chief Khairy Jamaluddin had something else to say.

“We lost because of 1MDB. The end.”

Taking to Twitter, Khairy Jamaluddin or better known as KJ, bit the bullet and moved away from BN’s denial syndrome by naming 1MDB as the cause of BN’s defeat.

In his tweet, he even attached an English news report quoting Najib saying that BN’s loss was due to fraud and that there was nothing wrong with Umno or BN.

His tweet has since garnered over 19,000 retweets and more than 16,000 likes at the time of writing, up to a point where it has now triggered a war of words between Dato’ Lokman Adam and himself.

The statement by KJ was made after Najib’s dialogue session yesterday evening (3 Nov) at the Putra World Trade Centre (PWTC).

Najib, who led BN to the coalition’s first loss after 61 years helming the nation, did not mention anything related to 1MDB in his session with his supporters.

Netizens who saw KJ’s tweet were in support of the Rembau MP, mainly for his bravery in calling out the white elephant in the room.

Here’s what some of them said, as reported by The Star:

“At least you are not in denial,” one Twitter user said.

“Too much corruption to be honest. Top to bottom,” another commented.

What do you think of KJ’s tweet saying that BN’s loss was due to the infamous 1MDB graft-scandal? Tell us in the comments!
