In his live press conference at the book guide for the National Immunisation Program, Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin announced that Malaysia will be receiving the first batch of Pfizer-Biotech Covid-19 vaccine on 21 February 2021.

On 26 February 2021, the PM himself and frontliners will be the first receivers of the vaccine. The second phase will start from April to August 2021 involving high-risk individuals. The final phase involving adults over the age of 18 will start in May 2021 and is set to end in August 2022.

Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin added that he hopes the vaccine will bring on herd immunity and thus putting the pandemic once and for all behind us. He also reassured that with the vaccines arriving, all economic sectors will be allowed to open including the tourism industry.

The government has launched a website called www.vaccinecovid.gov.my for Malaysians to get more information on the National Immunisation Program.
