As of today (18 October 2020), there are 871 new positive Covid-19 cases in Malaysia as reported by Health Director-General Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah. The total number of confirmed cases has increased to 20,498 cases.
Out of the 871 cases, there is only five imported cases and the rest are local transmissions.
There is a total of 701 recovered cases today, the highest total recovery cases reported in a day in Malaysia. Sabah remains the state with the highest number of Covid-19 cases which are 702 new cases today.
There are 77 cases in Selangor, 7 cases in Kuala Lumpur, 45 cases in Penang, 10 cases in Perak, and 9 cases in Kedah as reported by the Health Director-General. All states except Perlis, Kelantan, Pahang, and Putrajaya, have new Covid-19 cases today.
The Rt value of Covid-19 has decreased from 2.2 to 1.5 for the past four weeks.
Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah also advised the public to strictly comply with the government’s SOPs as the third wave of the Covid-19 pandemic is far more horrendous than the first and second wave.
