Is it just me or January 2019 felt like yesterday? And just within a blink of an eye, the month of May is already here!

This year has been an exciting one so far in terms of the entertainment scene in KL. First, we had BLACKPINK take over the Melawati Indoor Stadium in Shah Alam on 23 February (although some people thought the K-pop girl group was a bad influence on Malaysians). Then, local fans were definitely ecstatic when they found out that Westlife will be performing not one, but two concerts in Malaysia this August, so much so that the tickets for both days were sold out within just 36 hours. Wah, so fast!

If you think the list of awesome events for 2k19 in KL stops there, think again, because this month alone, it looks like there are many other events that will be rocking up in the city. So whether you’re into music, vintage markets, clearance sales or networking events, May 2019 looks pretty chock-full of events and you’ll be able to keep yourself busy every weekend.

Ramadan is just a few days away and if you don’t have an outfit yet for Raya, this is where you’ll find unique, non-mass-produced designs to wow your guests. Yes, it’s the same brand that’s famous for those vibrant graphic patterns on bags, pillowcases and more.

Time: 11am – 9pm
Venue: Nala’s Kampung House, 18, Jalan Abdullah, Bangsar

4th May: Bad Habits’ 1st anniversary @ Jiro

Then put on your dancing shoes (aka comfy sneakers) and head on down to Jiro in Bangsar because Bad Habits is back and will be celebrating their 1st birthday this Saturday. What to expect: indie rock, disco, funk, electro, and soul soundtracks with Singapore’s EATMEPOPTART headlining the night.

If you’re a lover of all things related to art, this 2-day bazaar is specially curated for you. There will be about 40 booths in total selling crafty items as well as showcasing art exhibitions where the works of young, independent and creative Malaysians will be on display.

11th – 12th May: Preloved Is Reloved Market @ APW Bangsar

Remember those secondhand markets always held in APW Bangsar? After a 6-month hiatus, this popular pre-loved market is back with its 7th installment and this time around, you can expect up to 60 vendors selling cheap clothes, jewellery, homeware, art and of course, food! Time to score some bargains while reducing fashion waste 😉

13th May: Jason Mraz Good Vibes Tour in KL

Jason Mraz first stepped foot on our Malaysian shores 10 years ago in 2009, and this year, he will be visiting us again and serenading his local fans with his 6th studio album, KNOW as well as other classic tracks. The ‘I’m Yours’ singer clearly loves us because he said he enjoys “performing for listeners in Asia”. Oh, how ‘Lucky’ we are! 😛

Venue: Axiata Arena, Jalan Barat, Bukit Jalil, 57000, Kuala Lumpur

19th May: Soap-Making Workshop By The Craft Crowd

Always wanted to make your own soap from scratch? Learn to do just that at a soap-making workshop by The Craft Crowd. FYI, they hold other creative workshops every month throughout the year such as modern calligraphy, oil painting, embroidery and more, so do follow their Facebook and Instagram for updates on upcoming workshops!
