He’s done playing around, and in conjunction with the new year, Malaysian cross-dresser Bryan Wee announced an end to his persona as a ‘woman.’

Following years of controversy, Bryan announced the news via a social media post on Thursday (1 January), stating that he is finished living his life as a woman and an influencer.

“I’m done boosting engagement in women’s outfits”

Bryan, previously seen with long hair and wearing women’s clothing, posted a makeover video revealing a short haircut and a suit, saying he is returning to life as a man.

In a Facebook video, Bryan paused to take a deep breath before cutting his long hair, then reappeared in a clean white suit, promising he would never wear women’s clothing again.

He admitted that for the past five years, he had been boosting engagement by cross-dressing, and believed that it was high time for him to stop doing so.

Despite the controversies and criticisms, Bryan said he had never regretted the past years.

“I’ve never regretted what I did. I don’t think I was wrong for putting on women’s clothing, as I respect gender equality. What I really want now is to get serious and become a man. I’m still learning, and let bygones be bygones,” Bryan said in his video.

In the meantime, he also bid farewell to the ‘woman’ who had been with him for the past few years, saying that he loved the female persona, but it was time to let her go.

“I can’t let the world continue to bully her. There’s no one to protect her, so let me protect her.”

Bryan reflected on the past few years, saying that regardless of his past, he hopes everyone can move forward as he wishes to continue learning. In 2024, he had claimed that he was planning to undergo surgery to change his gender in Thailand.

The influencer was arrested by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) in 2022 in Johor alongside fellow cross-dresser Deacon Chai, for behaving indecently in public. The duo later publicly apologised for the matter.
