Many of our daily activities involve the creation of waste. That is a problem because, globally, we dispose of our everyday waste very inefficiently.

Inappropriate waste disposal can cause many problems for human health and the environment – such as the case that this netizen shared happening at Batu 14, Hulu Langat.

In his tweet he writes: “What happened to Batu 14, Hulu Langat? Mounds of rubbish are on display for the public to see.”

“As the most advanced state in the country, waste management here is certainly not up to par.”

Garnering more than 142k views, netizens were divided in opinion, with some slamming the public for their lack of decency to dispose their own rubbish, while others blamed the local politician for not coming up with a solution to the problem.

However, one netizen understood that this could be a new, illegal site for irresponsible parties to throw their rubbish away.

“This could be a new illegal site. Bins are no longer situated at the side of the road, instead are now placed nearby each kampong.”

“There is a notice for people to not throw rubbish there. The mounds of rubbish there is down to the actions of the people and seller in the area. Do not blame the local authorities for the action of others.”
