A recent video shared on the Malaysian Dogs Deserve Better Facebook page shows a man reportedly hurting his dog on purpose at his home in Ipoh, Perak.

According to the post, the man’s neighbour, who caught the incident on video, revealed how the man, living right across from them, allegedly tried to kill his own dog.

He allegedly used a sledgehammer to harm the dog

In the video, the dog is seen tied by its neck to the front gate of the house, while the man is shouting at the dog and swings what looks like a sledgehammer toward it in an apparent attempt to harm it.

“I just need to quickly explain what happened in my neighbourhood. The tenant living across from me actually tried to kill his dog just now,” the neighbor shared in a post.

In a follow-up video, a woman who suddenly appeared during the incident is later seen taking the dog from the gate and bringing it into the man’s house.

“The police didn’t take any action”

The neighbour explained that upon seeing the man in such an act, they immediately decided to call the police. They also claimed that the 3 officers arrived at the scene but later drove away.

“We called the police right away, but as usual, they didn’t take any action. I feel hopeless and don’t know what to do,” the neighbour said.
