The Edge Markets just reported that Grab is offering discounted rides to all Malaysian voters on polling day (9 May 2018). Yas!

The leading ride-hailing app in Malaysia and Southeast Asia has decided to offer discounted rides to or from polling stations in 25 cities across the country including Lahad Datu and Sarikei – the two new areas where Grab will operate soon.

“Just go to the GrabRewards catalogue and for only 250 points, redeem RM5 off for one ride, valid for any verticals and payment method on May 9, 2018 only,” said Sean Goh, Grab’s country head in a statement that was released today (27 April 2018).

“One of the things that matters most to us in Grab is the voice of our Grabbers. Their feedback and opinions matter to us and we take great efforts to make everyone feel valued, appreciated and assured that their voice matters in shaping a company we can all be proud to be a part of.”

“As such, we feel it is also imperative to remind our fellow Malaysians that their voice and vote matters in deciding the kind of Malaysia we want to live in,” Sean added.

Besides that, devoted Grabbers with some GrabRewards points to spare can also ‘grab’ the GE14 voter’s kit from the app’s catalogue from 22 to 26 April 2018 for only 3,000 points. The kit will include the following items;

  • “Undi” T-shirt
  • A handheld “fan of democracy”
  • One promo code postcard with RM5 off two rides

The “fan of democracy” would surely come in handy if it’s a hot day on 9 May 2018!

Not only that, for 2,300 points, you can also redeem a witty Grab branded “Can’t Spell Undi, without U & I” T-shirt. Grab this if you enjoy their humour!

That being said, it’s great that Grab is taking many initiatives to encourage Malaysians to exercise their rights as voters. Also, we hope that Grabbers will make the most out of this opportunity to go out and vote.

Happy voting, guys!
