1 of the most important things to take note of before using a toll road is to ensure you have sufficient balance in your Touch N’ Go card as some tolls do not provide reloading services.
Recently, the Facebook page Kaki Viral MY shared a video that shows a kind man who decided to help another man in front of him who was stuck at the toll booth. When the orange Proton Persona in front of him could not get through the Touch N’ Go lane, he got out of his car and approached the man in front of him before tapping his own Touch N’ Go card to let the man pass.
Little did he know, his generosity & kindness would put him in trouble and had probably led to slight traffic congestion behind him. Soon after scanning his Touch N’ Go card to help the Persona driver who is now on the road, the man himself is now stuck at the toll booth.

This is because you cannot use the same Touch N’ Go card twice at the same toll booth!! Did you know this??
If there’s a way IN, there should be a way OUT
The video has gained attention from fellow netizens and most of them criticised the generous man for not having the basic knowledge of using a toll road.
Some of them have taken the opportunity to explain that the usage of the same Touch N’ Go card at the same toll booth is allowed at some places but NOT the toll booths that require the road users to exit at another toll booth where the fares will only be deducted at the exit.
“You can scan multiple times at the toll in the city but NOT at the toll that separates 2 towns or states.”
“Is there a toll in and a toll out?”
“I did the same at Kesas toll and it worked for me. This has to be the toll with entrance & exit.”
For instance, using the same Touch N’ Go card at the Kesas toll is allowed but NOT at the Subang NKVE toll where the fares will only be deducted at desired exits (Damansara, Jalan Duta exit etc).
A netizen explained that there are 2 kinds of tolls, 1 with an immediate deduction and another one where the fares deduction will only be calculated at the specific exits (in and out).
“Now I’m wondering, how will the driver of the orange Persona exit another toll booth later? The original card is not with him!”
The man’s generosity may deserve applause but unfortunately, his kindness may have landed him in trouble. Have you ever helped someone stuck at the toll booth?
