Scoot confirmed that Luqman is no longer employed by the airline. In response to queries, a spokesperson said, “We regret that we are unable to comment on specific HR matters concerning current or former staff, or on legal proceedings.”
Started after he misplaced cash bags
Court documents revealed that the offences began after Luqman misplaced two cash bags containing proceeds from onboard sales. Fearing repercussions, he chose not to report the loss and instead continued pocketing cash from subsequent flights when no one questioned him.
Between July 2023 and March 2024, he misappropriated nearly SGD18,000 (~RM56,756) across 156 flights. From April 2024 to March 2025, he committed similar acts on 210 occasions, amounting to more than SGD22,000 (~RM69,368). Investigations showed he used the money to settle debts with unlicensed moneylenders.
