Football Fans Share Their Fav Budget Lepak Spots To Watch the FIFA World Cup 2022 Final

Once again, we’re almost at the end of another FIFA football season! Whether you were born a football fan or only recently started getting into the hype of watching men chase a ball, you’re probably going to want to chop a place to watch the final match this Sunday because it’s going to be PACKED.

Check out these budget-friendly lepak spots we’ve compiled from Malaysians and arrive early if you want a seat!

1. Piccadilly Restaurant, Petaling Jaya

Located in Section 14, PJ, Piccadilly Restaurant is the kind of place people call an atas mamak. Their massive menu is super affordable and they have an air con as well as an al fresco dining area.

It’s also very happening when there’re big football matches taking place because the restaurant has like, 50 wide screen TVs. Ok, that’s an exaggeration, but they definitely have more than the average restaurant or mamak!

Address: Piccadilly Restaurant, LG 006 & LG 007, No. 98 Millenium Square, Jalan 14/1, Seksyen 14, 46100 Petaling Jaya, Selangor

2. Rock Cafe, Bandar Sunway

Rock Cafe in Bandar Sunway is THE place to be for Subang kids. Students go there for lunch, dinner and supper, to yum cha with friends and to spy on their crushes.

There’s really nothing special about the food and drinks there, but the vibes are immaculate. Whether you’re sitting indoors or outdoors under the big trees, you’ll be able to enjoy the match with other football fans. World Cup fever is so real that the food court even customized their own match chart for the games!

Address: Rock Cafe, Jalan PJS 11/20, Bandar Sunway, 47500 Petaling Jaya, Selangor

3. Chateau Beer Garden, Georgetown

Chateau Beer Garden in Fort Cornwallis, Georgetown, Penang is where you can get reasonably priced alcohol and food for your football-watching experience.

The place is also specially set up for people to come watch FIFA World Cup matches; countries’ flags buntings criss-cross over the area, fairy lights give the restaurant a cozy feel, and couches and chairs are all arranged to face a screen that will air the FIFA World Cup final live.

Address: Chateau Beer Garden, Fort Cornwallis, Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah, George Town, 10200 George Town, Pulau Pinang

4. TASEK KotaSAS, Kuantan

This latest retail hotspot in Kuantan is going all out for the FIFA World Cup Final this weekend! To celebrate the end of World Cup Season, the shopping mall is hosting their final football festival event with football-themed games and of course, a livestream of the final match between Argentina and France.

There will also be vendors selling sports items, merchandise, clothing and food.

Address:
TASEK KotaSAS, 55, Jalan KS 1/4, 25200 Kuantan, Pahang

5. Classic mamak

If the above eateries don’t appeal to you and you’d much rather just pull up at a mamak, you already know there’re plenty of options to choose from.

Usually, mamaks wouldn’t advertise their livestreaming of football matches because it’s like an unsaid rule that they WILL stream them, as long as they have a TV. If it brings in the customers, who don’t want?

Murni Discovery

Known to Malaysians as another atas mamak, Murni Discovery outlets are always super crowded with people looking for the comfort of mamak food yet want to splurge a little.

Treat yourself to their special Roti Fujiyama or Roti Hawaii while you cheer on your favourite team at the World Cup Final.

Other mamaks with outlets all across KL and Selangor are Original Penang Kayu Nasi Kandar and Nasi Kandar Pelita.

See you there!
