Fisherman Shares How You Can Now Differentiate Between Farmed And Wild Prawns

Taking to social media, this fish monger shared important tips on how you can now spot the difference between caught wild prawns and farmed prawns.

In a video that went viral on TikTok and Twitter, this netizen said that you can now be more vigilant when visiting the market with these important tips.

In his video the netizen shared: “Someone asked me what is the difference between wild shrimp and those that are farmed.”

“There are two prawns here. The one with a darker shade is the one that is farmed. The one in white, is caught wild prawn.”

“No matter the type, caught wild prawns are not as dark as the ones that are farmed.”

“If a fish monger tries to cheat you claiming that the darker prawn is caught wild prawn, question him, why is it so dark in colour.”

“Another important tip you must know, is that caught wild prawns will never be caught by the tonnes. At max, one can land around 20kg.”
