Football is a beautiful game and is supposed to unite and not divide society. With Malaysian football making significant waves in recent times, with the emergence of dominating football clubs and the national team reaching the Asian Cup, one façade of Malaysian football can do without are hooligans.

Hooliganism has no place in modern day football and it can become a deterrent for others from filling our stadiums. Take this incident for instance, that took place last night, at a local league match.

Taking to Twitter, this netizen shared a video of how football fans broke through the security barrier and began brawling with one another.

One netizen wrote, “Hooliganism has no place in Malaysian football. Security measures should be increased in stadiums.”

“It is a pity that things like this are witnessed by women, children and senior citizens. Isn’t sport for all?”

Hooliganism should be seen as a great disservice to Malaysian football and it should be condemned by all football lovers. It is time to let the law take its course and lets hope that as fans, we can bring this disgrace to an end.
