Kotex® Malaysia creates a virtual portal of Malaysia’s best sights to help girls spark their travel bug while supporting local communities in need with local NGO, WOMEN:girls.

Kotex® presents their latest Limited Edition collection, Teroka Lokal, inspired by four of Malaysia’s states in an effort to showcase the ultimate diversity of Malaysia’s tourism landscape. As supporters of women’s progress and the leading innovative sanitary pad brand, Kotex®’s latest collection aims to spark pride and empower Malaysian women who miss the thrill of adventure and discovery, to embrace the sights and experiences of Malaysia with a unique travel experience, from the comfort and safety of their homes. Ultimately with Kotex®, girls can plan their travel anytime, anywhere, without being constrained to their period cycle and the pandemic.

As domestic travel to most parts of Malaysia is still not feasible, Kotex® is bringing the wonderful and diverse scenery Malaysia has to offer to all women and girls across the country. The all-new Limited Edition Teroka Lokal collection highlights the diversity of Malaysia through the sights and experiences of the cityscapes of Kuala Lumpur, the heritage sites of Penang, the pristine coast and ocean wildlife of the surrounding islands in Terengganu as well as the ethnic culture and natural landscape of East Malaysia from Sabah and Sarawak.

Kotex® Teroka Lokal aims to have girls do as the collection’s name suggests. As part of the current campaign, Kotex® is also providing a Teroka Lokal Augmented Reality (AR) filter which will enable women and girls alike to immerse themselves in the Teroka Lokal world.

Additionally, in partnership with local non-governmental organisation (NGO), Pertubuhan Pembangunan Kendiri Wanita dan Gadis (WOMEN:girls),  Kotex® Malaysia will be dedicating packs of sanitary pads to support local communities in need when girls use the AR filter to explore while dressing up in their most creative travel outfits. For every post across Instagram & Facebook which uses the Limited Edition Teroka Lokal Augmented Reality (AR) filter and tags @kotexmy, Kotex® will dedicate one pack of sanitary pads to communities in need.

“It’s been a tough time for many across the world having to manoeuvre through this pandemic. With this collection, we want to spark some joy and reignite the love of exploration, especially after a hard year of being confined to a space for general health and safety. We also wanted to give our girls a chance to support their fellow sisters in need. Through our partnership with WOMEN:girls, we want to support 20,000 young girls and women who have been affected by the pandemic. We believe that every woman, no matter where they are from, deserves basic access to feminine hygiene products as a necessity, and not as an option,” said Radhika Agarwal, Marketing Manager for Kimberly-Clark Malaysia.

“It is unfortunate that in today’s world, period care is still not considered an essential need. The COVID-19 pandemic has created a larger disparity in the access to period care products, as well as period education. Over the years, WOMEN:girls have been committed to ensuring that girls and women everywhere across the nation have equal access to period education through the programs under our organisation. It is a great pleasure to be able to work with a household brand name like Kotex, that believes in this same vision and hope as us,” said Izza Izelan, Executive Director at WOMEN:girls.

Head on over to your nearest stores and collect all 4 varieties of the Kotex® Limited Edition collection while you can! Remember to also have fun with the AR filter on Instagram and don’t forget to tag @kotexmy. Every successful submission that meets the basic criteria will go towards supporting women in need of Kotex® sanitary pads.
