According to Berita Harian, the spread of Covid-19 poses a higher threat to the economy as compared to being a health risk to people. An expert on economic development from the Independent, known as Omar Hassan, stated that the real impact of the virus on human lives is because of the inability to work, being prohibited by upper management and businesses in peril.

He noted that due to Covid-19, the financial market is facing losses 0f up to trillions of dollars just this week, and that it’s just the beginning if the UK government doesn’t start doing something.

“If President Trump of the US, fails to control the situation at hand, it could and would mess up his chances to be re-elected as president. Joe Biden, on the other hand, did a fine job at detecting Covid-19 as a weakness for Trump and promised a more calm, confident leadership in this time of need for Americans”, he said.

Economically, he noted that this pandemic will paralyse millions of people, especially since it’s causing a huge drop in investments shares, an oil war between Russia and Saudi Arabia and after-effects of the war on Syria.
