A series of hate crimes towards Asians have been rampaging through the United States of America. It started with an attack on a massage parlour in Atlanta that killed eight people (six of them being Asians). From then on, other attacks have been reported as well.

One attack happened on the morning of Wednesday, 17 March in San Francisco. In the video by KPIX 5 News, a man can be seen on the stretcher while an old Asian lady was seen clutching an ice pack to her swollen face. She can be heard wailing and pointing to the guy on the stretcher and saying in Cantonese that he hit her.

“This man hit me! I was just here and he just punched me!”

According to KPIX 5, the woman said that she was leaning against a light pole when suddenly, the Caucasian man came and punched her. She acted on instinct and retaliated by pummeling him. The authorities arrived at the scene shortly after and pulled the two apart. Both of them were sent to the hospital later.

The San Francisco officers mentioned that there was a second victim that same morning, an 83-year-old Asian man. A 39-year-old has been arrested to aid in investigations with these two cases.
