A total of 804 civil servants in Malaysia were caught in drug-related offences, especially drug abuse from 1 January 2021 to 30 November 2021. As reported by Kosmo!, the Deputy Inspector-General of Police, Datuk Razarudin Husain revealed the statistics and said that a majority of the offenders were Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) officers with 346 individuals being nabbed during the aforementioned period.

Meanwhile, 340 government employees were also nabbed, followed by 104 army personnels as well as 14 officers from the Fire and Rescue Department of Malaysia.

The Deputy IGP further commented,

“I don’t deny that there are PDRM officers that are involved in drug abuse, however, the situation is not critical as it only involves 0.04% of the total 128,325 PDRM force based on a study made in the year 2020.”
