The incident happened at 12.10pm on that day, and the girl in the video was severely injured and passed away while receiving treatment.

Deputy OCPD Supt Md Noor Aehwan Mohammad said that the 31 year old female driver was sending the primary school students to a kindergarten for temporary care.

On 13 November, it was reported that the school van driver had no proper license and the colour of the school van used was not qualified. The chief of traffic law enforcement and the investigation team has advised all school vehicle drivers to obtain a license at the respective department.

The parents are also advised to use registered school vehicles for pick up services to ensure the safety of their children.

On 13 November, Transport Minister Wee Ka Siong offered his condolences to the family of the victim. “Heartbreaking to hear the news about a year one student who was killed by a van in Bandar Baru Salak Tinggi yesterday. Condolences to her family members. May her soul rest in peace,” he said in a Facebook statement.
