Mental illness can strike at any time and when it does, there is a chance that it might impair someone.

On 23 December, one driver had to stop their car in the middle of the road as they were having a full blown anxiety attack.

According to DBKL on Facebook, this incident happened on the morning of 23 December at Jalan Kuching going in the direction of Selayang.

It is said that the driver suddenly stopped on the road and wouldn’t move, so, a traffic jam ensued.

The rescue squad, traffic personnel and the DBKL ITIS team along with PDRM soon arrived at the scene. Once there, they got straight to work.

The authorities talked to the driver and coaxed her to come out of the car. She eventually did so and told them that she was having a panic attack.

Once she was helped out of the vehicle, the authorities moved it to the side of the road.

We hope that the woman is feeling better now but if you ever find yourself in a similar situation, Choosing Therapy recommends that you pull over at a safe space.

Mental illness is unpredictable but know that you are not alone and seeking help is always better than suffering in silence.

There are many places that you can seek help from such as The Help Talk, Aloe Mind, Cara Cara and others that are just a Google search away.
