Safety should ALWAYS be a top priority, regardless of where you are. Any country with a good reputation when it comes to safety is more likely to see a boost in the tourism sector.

When it comes to Malaysia, what do others think, especially foreigners? On her Douyin account @女博士GiGi在大马, a TikToker from China, GiGi shared her take on security in Malaysia and said that others should feel safe and sound in our country.

“Aside from Singapore, Malaysia is the safest country. You can see police officers everywhere.”

GiGi, who has been staying in Malaysia for a period of time made it clear that she’s a fan of our country, saying,

“9 out of 10 people who came to Malaysia fell in love with the place!”

To GiGi, safety is just 1 of the reasons why Malaysia has a special place in her heart. In the 94-second clip, GiGi mentioned the education system, Instagram-able tourist spots, and the myriads of good food that are available here.

“The education system in Malaysia is better than the one in China, that’s why some of us are here.”

She also mentioned Semporna in Sabah as 1 of the tourist spots where people are eager to go and take pictures. GiGi then said that the Chinese culture in Malaysia is well-preserved, making it easier for them to speak their native language here.

“Other than China, where else can we speak Chinese? Only Malaysia, right?”

GiGi recalled her time in America where she could barely find any Chinese cuisine and she had to cook for herself, but not in Malaysia because “different kinds of food are everywhere”.

At the end of her clip, GiGi said that she believes China is the safest country among all but Malaysia is still doing a good job in keeping the country safe. You can watch and listen to the clip below.

Fellow Malaysians, is our country as good as advertised by GiGi? What do you like about Malaysia that you don’t think you can find elsewhere?
