Children Aged 12 & Above Are Allowed To Be Registered As Vaccine Dependents On MySejahtera
Those aged 12 to 18 years old can now be registered for the Covid-19 vaccine through the MySejahtera application.
Previously, the application only allowed families to register dependents who are aged 18 and above, Berita Harian reported.
Registration can be made in the ‘Add dependents’ column available in the ‘Covid-19 vaccination’ tab in the application. Just fill in the necessary fields provided such as the individual’s name, contact, IC number, age, gender, relation, address, and you’re good to go!
This comes after the recent announcement that Pfizer-BioNTech’s vaccine will now be available for children and adolescents aged 12 and above.
A meeting will be scheduled by the Special Committee of Covid-19 Supply (JKJAV) to confirm the exact date for the vaccination and it will be announced later this week, said Coordinating Minister of the National Covid-19 Immunisation Programme (PICK), Khairy Jamaluddin in a weekly press conference of the Covid-19 Immunisation Task Force (CITF) on 21 June.
This falls in line with giving priority to students who will sit for their upcoming exams access to be vaccinated.
However, vaccinations will still be prioritised for high-risk groups despite the approval of these additional indications said Director-General of Health Tan Sri Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah.
