The suspect was wearing a cat mask
The suspect was accused of walking into the toy section of a supermarket in Okpo-dong around 7:23 PM on August 2 while wearing a cat mask and gloves. She then reportedly pulled out two knives and started waving them around.
CCTV footage showed her wandering the aisles at first, before suddenly grabbing the knives and holding them up as she moved through the store.
Supermarket staff tried to calm her down but backed off when she came at them still clutching the weapons. She even charged toward an employee, who had nothing but an umbrella to shield themselves, while ignoring repeated calls to drop the knives.

“I can’t tell you, meow”
Police quickly arrived and told her to drop the knives, even pointing a Taser at her. Once she finally sat down, officers pinned her down and arrested her on the spot. Luckily, no one was hurt during the incident.
During questioning, the suspect bizarrely responded to every police question with a “meow.”
Police later revealed she had a history of mental illness and has since been placed under compulsory psychiatric care.
