There’s a famous Malaysian street food that we don’t know about?!

For those who aren’t familiar, BuzzFeed Tasty is a well-known name in the world of food videos, famous for its visually appealing and easy-to-follow recipes.

In the video, a BuzzFeed Tasty representative attempts to make a ramen omelette, a dish they described as a popular Malaysian street food.

According to the post, the ramen omelette cart in Malaysia is a well-known street food vendor famous for its unique blend of Japanese and Malaysian flavours.

BuzzFeed Tasty also described how the ramen omelette features delicious ramen noodles wrapped in a fluffy omelette that’s enjoyed by both locals and tourists.

“The cart often attracts long lines, so instead of waiting in that, come try this delicious twist at home!”

Step-by-step recipe for the ramen omelette

The representative demonstrates how to make the so-called famous Malaysian dish, providing a detailed, step-by-step guide for preparing it at home.

Here’s how to make the ramen omelette:

  1. Cook ramen per packet instructions. Set aside.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg, cream, and black pepper.
  3. In a hot pan over medium heat, spray on oil to cover the pan and add cooked ramen, spreading the noodles out evenly.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the noodles, then place the cheese and hot dog on top.
  5. Cover for 2 minutes or until eggs are set. Fold the omelette.
  6. Drizzle with kewpie mayo, Sriracha, and furikake.
  7. Enjoy!
