Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, our former Prime Minister and ex-Chairman of Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has been expelled from the party.

It’s reported by Straits Times that this decision was told to the now ex-members through a letter dated today (28 May).

The 5 people who were axed from the party are:

  1. Tun Dr Mahathir
  2. Mukhriz Mahathir
  3. Syed Saddiq
  4. Amiruddin Hamzah
  5. Maszlee Malik

This news came to a surprise to many netizens as many voiced out their concerns.

“As a government party who stressed to not cause political turmoil, and don’t play with politics during the Covid-19 crisis, this is definitely not the way to go,” one Malaysian wrote.

“Tun M, just form a new party and make sure this country continues to move forward!” another one wrote.
